Biography

Rick Wiles is a far-right, conservative Christian preacher and talk show host of Trunews, a far-right political commentator and Senior Pastor at a Florida-based non-denominational Church. Trunews - run by Wiles and that still maintains a Twitter channel and a website, had its YouTube account banned in February 2020 following comments made by Wiles that the Trump impeachment was an organised “Jew coup”. At the time, Trunews’ YouTube account had over 180,000 subscribers. Trunews still posts content online and maintains a large following on Twitter. Trunews and Wiles is closely watched by right-wing monitors across the U.S, who regularly report on his latest hate-speech.

In addition to his recent attacks on Jews, and his virulent anti-semitism, Wiles has also attacked Islam and Muslims, stating that “Islam it must be eliminated from the face of the earth” “and that Muslims must be stomped out like cockroaches”.

Wiles is also a conspiracy theorist, stating that the shutting down of his YouTube channel in February 2020 was an organised campaign by Jewish billionaire George Soros, and stated that the “invasion” by central American immigrants was God’s plan to punish White Americans for legal abortion.

Evidence of Hate Speech/Incitement:

March 2020: Wiles stated that coronavirus spreading from synagogues is a punishment from God for Jewish refusal to accept Jesus.

January 2020: Wiles stated that the coronavirus was a plague that was sent by God to punish sinners and LGBTQ people, and that it began in China because of “their godless communist government”. He further went on to state that “plagues are a sign of end times and the only way to escape the virus is to repent of your sins and accept Christ as a saviour”.

November 2019: In reference to the former U.S. President Donald Trump’s impeachment, Wiles stated that the impeachment was a “Jew coup”, and that “Jews would kill millions of Christians after Trump was overthrown”.

December 2014: With references to Muslims and Islam, Wiles stated that “How many innocent people must die until the world vomits out Islam? Folks, it must be eliminated,” he said. “Islam must be eliminated from the face of the earth, it must be stomped out like cockroaches, it is a religion from Hell, everywhere Muslims go there is bloodshed and violence.”

August 2014: Wiles stated that “this Ebola epidemic may be the great attitude adjustment that I believe is coming,” further adding that “Ebola could solve America’s problems with atheism, homosexuality, sexual promiscuity, pornography and abortion.”
