Berlin Extremism Conference 2023: Exploring Islamism, Integration and Far-right Extremism in Germany

EMAN held its second event in Berlin in March 2023 and explored the following topics:

This event tackled critical topics, including the adverse effects of Islamist organizations in Germany, the challenges of integration for newcomers from Muslim-majority countries exploited by these organizations, and the concerning rise of far-right extremism and transnational cooperation, fostering intolerance within Western nations.

The event’s format was a panel of five experts on extremism, including Mohamed Hineidi, the Director of EMAN, Dr. Ahmad Mansour — an expert on Islamism and integration in Germany, Professor Hajo Funke — a leading expert on far-right movements in Germany and Europe, and Christoph De Vries — a Member of Bundestag and rapporteur for the CDU/CSU-fraction on Islamist terrorism and Extremism.


EMAN Launch Event: Assessing the UK National Security Landscape

EMAN held its official launch event in October 2021 at the Queen Elizabeth II Center in London.

The event saw prominent experts and public figures from academia and government, including Dr. Julia Ebner, University of Oxford, who spoke on 'White Supremacism', followed by Nick Timothy, former Chief of Staff at 10 Downing Street, who spoke on the 'Policy Responses to Extremism and Terrorism in the UK', Professor Ed Husain, Georgetown University, who spoke on 'Islamist Separatism', and Tom Tugendhat MP, our keynote speaker, who spoke on the 'Global Threats to Britain'.

The event ended with an open floor for Q&A discussions and conversations.

EMAN Director, Mohamed Hineidi, was invited by the European Eye on Radicalisation (EER) to speak on the the decline of the Muslim Brotherhood in Tunisia and the Middle East and the failure in addressing the economic freefall and rising unemployment compunded by the COVID-19 pandemic.
