Overview

The Jewish Task Force (JTF) is a right-wing Jewish Kahanist group established and operated in the United States. Its primary goal is to collect funds for Israel's extremist right-wing Jewish organisations. The JTF broadcasts television shows on local-access cable TV and runs a website with the goal of preserving Israel, America, and the West. The JTF is founded and directed by the former national chairman of the Jewish Defense League (JDL), Chaim Ben Pesach.

“Fighting to defend America and Israel from Islamic terrorism,” is the key mission of JTF. Unlike other Kahanist groups, which typically take direct views primarily on Israeli matters, the JTF has an American purpose as well; which is fighting to stop what it terms as the “Third World invasion of America” and prevent America from becoming a “Third World banana republic.”

In addition, JTF has a European agenda, which focuses mostly on preventing the expansion of Islam. The Anti-Defamation League and the Simon Wiesenthal Center have both denounced JTF for embedded racism as a result of the suspicious broadcasts of JTF's director, Chaim Ben Pesach.

Ties to Extremism

Prior to establishing JTF, Pesach went to jail for the first time in December 1978, as a result of his terrorist attack carried out against Egyptian targets in an attempt to discourage the Israeli withdrawal from the Sinai desert. Pesach and two other JDL members were arrested again in the 1980’s as they were accused of six incidents: a 1984 firebombing of an automobile at a Soviet diplomatic residence, the 1985 and 1986 bombings of an FBI agent’s car, the 1986 firebombing of a hall where the Soviet State Symphony Orchestra was performing, and two tear gas grenade detonations at protest performances by Soviet dance companies in 1986.

In addition, JTF is a vocal opponent of Islam, frequently referring to the Koran, which Muslims regard as their holy book, as the “Muslim Nazi Koran” or “monstrous.” JTF claims that the Koran commands Muslims to kill all “non-Muslim unbelievers,” and backs the battle against Muslim terror,” by supporting Slobodan Miloevi's policies and the “heroic Serb Christian fights” in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
